Awana for Youth

Because Awana is fun! That's what gets them there and that's what keeps them coming back. And while they're having fun, they're learning and growing. Awana club meetings are jam-packed with life-changing experiences. The clubs are run by trained leaders with a love for the Lord Jesus Christ and a desire to help young people. The club materials are filled with verses from the Bible and guidelines to help kids memorize and understand them.

Awana teaches kids that God is real, that He loves them and that He has expressed that love through Jesus Christ. Kid also learn how God can help them in their daily lives. Lessons from the Bible teach them how to honor God in a sinful world. The goal of Awana is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. This is the end result, but the method is FUN! Since 1950, churches have used Awana to reach youth. It is a proven way for churches to train leadership and bring the message of salvation to their communities.

Three segments provide start-to-finish adventure in every meeting. Each segment has its own purpose, but all of them are FUN.

• Game Time--Individual and team competition takes place through circle games exclusive to Awana and playground favorites. Every kid gets involved every night and has a chance to unleash his or her energy.
• Handbook Time--Kids work one-on-one with a trained leader to complete assignments in the curriculum materials. Awana emphasizes memorization and understanding of key Bible verses that show how to know God and walk with Him. A series of awards and trophies reward achievements at every level as kids progress.
• Council Time--Everyone gathers together for singing, announcements, award distribution and, most importantly, a practical Bible message.

Youth Ministries - Jr. Varsity and Varsity are the Awana ministries for middle-school and high-school teens. While still concentrating on memorizing Scripture and applying its truth, the programs have been customized for teens. A more flexible format encourages young people to grow through devotionals, individual and group Bible studies, Christian service and a lot of FUN. Special events such as game and Bible quiz competitions add excitement to the year.

The Awana Club Program -

Ages 3 & 4: Cubbies (coed).

Grades K,1 & 2: Sparks (coed).

Grades 3-6: Truth & Training (boys and girls).

Grades 6 (optional), 7 & 8: Jr. Varsity (coed optional).

Grades 9-12: Varsity (coed).
